THEORY TEST

The DVSA Theory Test is actually in two parts. You are required to pass both parts of the theory test before you can apply for your practical driving test. The first part is a computerised multiple-choice test consisting of 50 questions of which you need to answer at least 43 questions correctly. The second part is called the hazard perception test which consists of you watching 14 video clips as if you were driving the car, you are required to identify potential developing hazards as they occur.

There is one developing hazard on 13 of the clips and 2 developing hazards on the other. A potential developing hazard can be described as something that may result in you having to take some action, such as changing speed or changing direction. I will help you and explain all about what is meant by a developing hazard. You will need to score a minimum of 44 points out of a possible 75 points. You must pass both parts of the test at the same time. You will then be issued with a theory test pass certificate which is then valid for two years.

Most local driving schools in Blackpool will most likely advise you to start taking your driving lessons at the same time that you are studying for your theory test. Driving Instructors can help you on your practical driving lessons to identify potential hazards which will give you valuable experience that will help you when you take your theory test.

Most learner drivers download an App from Theory Test Pro, you can visit their website at theorytestpro.co.uk
